This item came with an IPAQ 5450 package from a private individual.

The item is a type of expansion pack

P/N 173396-001

SPS 176315-001

Input 5vdc 2A

There is an opening at the top for something larger than an SD card or
Compact flash.

1) Can someone help me identify this?

2) I don't have an external power supply for this, does it run off the IPAQ
battery

3) Will it charge in the cradle if I put the IPAQ and expansion pack
together?

Thanks!!

Could this perchance be the PCMCIA Expansion Sleeve
with Extended Battery feature?

_sounds like_ the pcmcia sleeve which included an additional battery

quickest answer would be to see if it accepts laptop pcmcia cards...
there were also some that accepted two cards.
