I have three USB devices that I have tried to install; a USB-serial port
converter (succeeded), a Mitsubishi USB floppy drive (failed) and a USB key
(failed). When I try to install the latter two, I get "An error occurred
during the installation of the device... Data is invalid". Note that
uninstalling the convertor and then trying the others does not make any
difference.

These devices installed and worked quite happily on the same laptop under
Win2K, and on a desktop or two under WinXP... any ideas what silly problem I
have encountered?
