Do you have any friends that live in the States close to the Canadian
border? If so, could you ask them to get it for you, then have them ship it

Thanks Wookie but after reading the information on international orders I
don't think I can get a motherboard shipped... it's over 2lbs...
Quote from Excaliber:
"Total weight is limited to be less than two (2) lb, and total product costs
to be less than USD 150.
Please understand our flat S&H for this special service is only based on
small package to be less than two (2) lb. Anything above that will require
us to go to post office to check actual shipping charge. This is definitely
not possible to support any online transaction. Another alternative is to
use FedEx's International service, which we tried but decided to
discontinue. As most customers will just argue about its high costs and
request us to ship via USPS. Instead of wasting your and our time in going
back and forth meaninglessly. We prefer to set this limit to make sure we
only take orders that we can handle efficiently.
If you plan to purchase any item that exceeds this limit, please log off to
shop elsewhere.
We will absolutely not answer any request to make special adjustment. "

Did some more checking. They may have AMD64 754 cpu motherboards, but they
seem to be a bit confused. LOL They call the Opteron board a Socket A
board. http://www.directdial.com/ca/shop/ [...] m=S2850G2N

I know MSI has a few of the new NF3-250 boards, probably the VIA
chipset also. I'm sure you should be able to funs a dealer from this
list.

Call and inquire. They will do a special order upon request.

Looks like www.tigerdirect.ca has the Chaintech nf3-250 motherboard
but they are asking $300can. There is no way I'm paying more for the
motherboard than the CPU.... The Abit KV8pro looks interesting for
about $100usd but again it's not available here in Canada. Also, there
are reports that the KV8pro (k8t800pro) doesn't have the agp/pci lock.

I'm into overclocking that's why I've been waiting for the new mobo's to
come out. Last night I found another board listed at www.ncix.com ... the
MSI version.

You'll be glad you waited, the new REAL mobile amd64 processors are
out now. See Newegg. Stay away from the via pro, it's lame compared
to the nforce 250.

I've got a unique A64... DTR so I've been told 1.8ghz, 1mb cache
w/heatspreader so it's not a mobile chip even though it has the same speed
and cache as the mobile.
Most reports show the nf3-250 to have closed the performance gap the VIA
k8t800 chips held over the nf3-150 but the new nforce chipset doesn't really
offer any performance advantage over the k8t800pro... both having locked
agp/pci. Only difference is the nf3-250 are on the retail shelves and the
VIA boards are still MIA with the exception of the Abit KV8pro which is
having some teething problems with the lack of the agp/pci lock.
