Can anyone recommend a good wireless card (PCI) and a wireless router? I'm looking to spend about 100$ and am looking for a basic reliable setup for just connecting an upstairs computer to dsl line downstairs.

you can try the survey results of toms hardware or any other review magazines.
perhaps you should also include the question: how practical and how available are these newer gezmos?

If your budget is $100, I'd say you are stuck with 11b..
Linksys seems to be decent and has a broad range of products to fit varying needs...

I've used the Linksys also and had really good luck. I haven't used their PCI card. Just the USB wireless adapter and the PC Card for my notebook. Took longer to read the instructions than it did to actually make them work.
