Windows 7 line in

Hello,
I have an odd request see, I've been looking online for solutions but none worked i'm computer illiterate and when i go to manage my line in so i can record directly from the computer it doesnt show up all it has is microphone, its a windows 7 computer i didn't upgrade i dont have money to buy anything i'm just an artist trying to record my song so that i can post it online any help will be appreciated

If your motherboard doesn't have a "line in" jack on the back of the computer then you will need to purchase a sound card.

If you do have a line in jack, try connecting your audio equipment to it. the mic jack is not the same as a line in jack.
