I already have two 256MB SD-RAMs in my motherboard Elitegroup ECS K7S5A Pro rev5.0 working.
Everthing is fine. Now I wanted to extend the memory up to
768 MB and bought another 256 MB SD-RAM PC133 because I remembered a 3rd and 4th slot in my K7S5A

When I tried to insert the RAMs I had to recognize that
they did not fit. Their notches are at another place than those on the mobo.

Which SD-RAMs do I need for the 3rd and 4th bank on the K7S5A Mobo?

NOTE: This poster used the FollowUp-To header but *without* warning
(i.e., the user is rude). Newsgroups was reinstated to their original
list to include all groups to which the user posted except
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.elitegroup was not defined on my newsgroups
server.

This mobo supports old and new memory modules (168-pin and 184-pin) but
not together.

Read the note on page 2 about mixing memory types.

You'll have to toss the old memory and buy new larger sticks.

This was posted to the newsgroup where I read it. I hope that he reply to
the alt. group was an honest error rather than a deliberate one.

See www.ecsusa.com.

The board has 2 SDRAM slots, and 2 DDR slots. You may use either SDRAM or
DDR, but you aren't permitted to mix them.

If you want the best performance, toss the PC133 and install two 512 MB DDR,
PC2100 or faster. That'll max out the RAM capacity of the board, according
to www.crucial.com.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.

Like Bob said, get 2 sticks of 512MB of DDR. Bob also said PC2100 or faster.
Do not get anything faster than PC2100 as your motherboard will not support
it. If you get PC2700 or PC3200, your motherboard may not accept the ram and
refuse to boot up (I know this does not happen on many motherboards now, but
it's possible) or more likely, the faster ram will operate at the fastest
supported speed (PC2100), in which case you would be wasting your money.
