The mouse keeps freezing up...it won't do anything until you reboot...then it
may last awhile, or just a few minutes. A new mouse does the same thing.

The mouse is not the issue. Windows is locking up. Unfortunately, you
haven't told us anything about your computer so you can't get focused
troubleshooting. Go here for help in making a good newsgroup post:

Then post back with all pertinent details, including what you've already
done in terms of scanning for viruses/malware, and someone will help

mine is doing the same thing. freezing at the top of the screen, using an
HID Compliant mouse using windowsxp home edition.
