I bought a CLP-500 as it was so cheap.
My cheap HP 5550 inkjet produces slightly sharper prints and better
photos, but I like the non-smudging and duplex of the Samsung.
I'm finding it takes about a minute for the first page when it should
be about 25s, though.

I can't remember if it has an ethernet connection but that would
probably speed that up, and possibly boosting your own computer might
speed things up as well - I think its a windows printer.

If it is plain text, then data transfer speed does not
matter. But aslow computer (<1GHz could be the problem).
