How come when I overclock my XP 3000+ from 2.1GHz to 2.4GHz it doesn't
run any hotter?

CPU is at 47deg, 53deg under load.

Or is my motherboard lying to me?

Speed increases don't do much. It's raising voltages that cause the most
increase. It also helps to have a decent cooler.

Yep. CPU power is more or less proportional to MHz, but to the *square*
of the voltage.

Your using Speedfan or MBM to monitor it I hope and it it is reading it
from the CPU diode not the MB Socket?

Something we all come to learn :)

Try Speedfan 4.13, it kicks serious ass!

How would I know? It's built into the bios.
