Have you tried seeing if it appears in your device manager? You might have to add it there.

Installing Hauppauge program and drivers on an XP system is straight forward, but that is not the case with installation on Win 7. I have both XP as well as Win 7. The XP install went smoothly, but I had to call tech support and have them walk me through the Win 7 installation. It appears that Hauppauge was not quite ready for Win 7.
