I've two questions about using the Photo Black/Matte Black cartridges on the
2200.
1. How much (what %) of ink is lost from the various cartridges when you
change between the Photo Black and Matte Black cartridges and do the system
recharge?
2. Epson recommends using the Matte Black cartridge with plain (i.e.,
regular inkjet) paper. How much quality is lost if you use the Photo Black
instead? Are there other issues - e.g., smearing?
Thanks.

Sorry I don't have figures but I suspect it's quite a bit.

I use mine mainly to print family photos on glossy paper. I leave the photo
black cart in for other jobs on plain paper - like printing large envelopes
or the odd letter. It works very well.

The 2200 uses pigment ink which is long life but slower drying than dye
based ink - this means that in general it doesn't work as well on some
plastic media - eg on plastic the ink sometimes isn't dry when it comes
through the exit rollers. You might want to hold onto your old printer as
well if you plan to print a lot of OHP foils perhaps?
