I tried installing a Sony DRU-800A today and now my pc doesn't recognize my
d:\ or e:\ drives (under 'my computer" it does show the e:\ drive but get an
i/o error when I try to access it). I tried switching the master/slave
ribbon connection (drives have power) and checked the System Config utility
to enable the pimary IDE channel. I also tried to change the transfer mode
in IDE Channel Properties. Nothing is working. Any suggestions would be
extremely helpful. Thanks!

Thanks Cari, I tried the patch but still no luck. Not sure how to check the
BIOS.

Did you check the jumpers at the rear of the drives. On one IDE cable you
should have a Master and a Slave. If you have two Masters or two Slaves,
often both disappear.

One Master, one slave (and I even switched them at one point thinking that
may be the problem and even changed the IDE cable to ensure that wasn't the
problem). Very frustrating, but again I thank you for your assistance.
