Visit the support web site of the manufacturer of your motherboard
and search for the type of RAM that is recommended for use with
your specific model motherboard. You can also use the Ram Configurator
at www.crucial.com for this purpose.

Look at the motherboard's manual. What processor do you have?

Why would you buy memory for your motherboard when you don't even know if it
will work with it. Wouldn't it have been wiser to ask this question first?

Memory stick? Do you mean RAM? Does you computer allow just one "stick" of
memory to be installed or does it need to be installed in pairs? RTFM.

Yes I mean RAM and how do i know if it needs to be installed as a pair
cause it has 3 sockets

"RTFM" means "Read The >ahem< Fine Manual". There is no getting around
this and no way for us to answer the question for you; you need to read
the manual for your motherboard to answer your RAM questions. If your
computer is an OEM brand (HP, Compaq, Dell, etc.) then read the manual
that came with your computer. If you do not have a physical manual,
then the motherboard mftr. (or the OEM if applicable) will have the
manual and/or RAM requirements on their website.

About what? The above information says that your motherboard supports
PC2100 and that is apparently what you bought. If you are having a hard
time with this, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop
along with the RAM you bought and have them install it for you. There
is no shame in doing this.

Please ask in a different hardware group. Your question has nothing
to do with WinXP and hardware.

Yes it does. Net nannies are a pain. Take your anal personality to a

OK, explain to me how this relates to XP. The OS could care less what
type of memory your mainboard takes. It just needs the memory to be
there.

The sign on the door says "hardware" The OP is using XP, also on the door.

It's YOUR logic that is impaired. The "Hardware" question being asked
has nothing to do with what OS the OP is using or not using.
