I have a usb thumb drive that was working fine and now all of sudden no
matter what computer I plug it into it gets assigned drive letter A:
and I can't access it. Any thoughts or suggestions as to why this is
happening?

This needs to be asked: Do you have a floppy drive A:?
By using Disk Management, you can re-assign the USB thumb drive to a
different letter. When I did all of mine, they seem to keep their new
letter.
