Hi...I have just installed an XP 3200+ processor, and after ran a system
check with Windows & Belarc Advisor they report the processor to be a 1.1
Ghz not a 2.2 Ghz. Have I done something wrong in the installation or have I
been robbed. I have installed the processor on a Gigabyte GA-7N400PRO2
Motherboard. Any assistance would be very appreciated, thanks in advance.

Did you set the FSB and multiplier manually or does the bios have a default
setting for an XP3200+? If there`s no default setting your manual settings
should be 200MHz Front Side Bus with a multiplier setting of 11. The core
voltage should be 1.6v. I hope i`m not stating the obvious of course. Your
bios may hae defaulted to 100MHz FSB when you put the new cpu in. The cpu
change will have been detected by the motherboard and not recognised till
you change it.
Hope this helps.

Set the FSb to 200MHz. you have it set to 100 now. 11x100=1100MHz,
11x200=2200MHz. Leave vcore at 1.65v default unless you have problems.
make sure your ram is set properly.

That seems like the only thing I see asked here anymore.
So far, evey AMD board I've had, I've had to re-set the FSB for the chip I
put in it.
My 2200+ don't come up as a 2200+ unless I set it to 133 FSB.
he he, like it's set @ 133 anyway. (146 FSB)

Denny. ;-) :-)
