I have been trying unsuccessfully to use NetMeeting to link 2 computers on seperate networks via the Internet. Like many frustrated people, I'm able to connect the computers for voice, text, and file transfer, but the video connection doesn't work.
After researching Microsoft's tech pages and several nightmares in other forums, I'm ready to give up on NetMeeting. Does anyone know other packages available that are more firewall friendly.
Both networks are using Asante (un)FriendlyNET routers, but shortly after purchasing them (including 1 year free telephone support), Asante decided to renege on their warranty and stopped phone support. Subsequently, they aren't helping on the configuration.

You are correct - reading does wonders, and if you had read my original post completely, you would have read that I have been all through the Microsoft support pages.
I have been working on this for quite some time, and as with all inquiries, I research before I ask. I have opened the ports and followed MS requirements precisely. I am still unable to obtain a video connection. After reading further (Newsgroups and tech forums), I have ascertained that this is an ongoing frustration with NetMeeting and home-user level routers.
I'm looking for input on a easy-to-implement, single-connection video conferencing solution. I'm hoping for a software solution, but I'd be open to different router that would allow a successful connection to be established.
Thank you for your input,

you might want to check out a Nexland router here's the one I got which are a little more advanced than the ones you're talking about. I had a problem running a Nokia VPN through a DLink, and the Nexland had no problem. Best thing is they've got a 30 day money back guarantee so if it doesn't fix your problem just send it back.
