Reinstalled operating system XP, and wizard attempts to install new hardware,
multimedia sound manager unsucessfully.MMedia Logo is big yellow question
mark.
Got no system sounds or music. nuttin. Do I need to download a new driver?
It is a Compaq Presario 2002. Maybe the hp website?

Yes, visit the hp web site and get the correct drivers.
