I just installed a pair of xp2400 mobile processors from new egg in my asus
dually board. Crystalcpuid 4.3.1.233 allows me to change the multiplier up
to 13.5 max. I thought these processors were unlocked. I need either a 16 or
16.5.

Thanks

"Unlocked" is a very vauge term. See any number of my previous rants on the
topic for more details of what is happening (startup vs maximum PowerNow
multiplier). This is my favourite:
http://groups.google.co.nz/groups?selm=otKAd.3611%24mo2.200241%40news.xtra.co.nz
Also, see my more general rant at:
http://www.emboss.co.nz/amdunlock/
(from the 4th paragraph)

The "problem" in your particular case is that the maximum software
multiplier is set to 13.5x. There's two solutions. The first is to set the
maximum software multiplier to 25x by rejoining the 1st L5 (either fill or
bridge, it doesn't matter). The second option is to set the multiplier by
pin painting etc (though I have never liked the wire-in-socket method and do
not recommend it). The downside of the second option is that you effectively
lose PowerNow functionality as you can't PowerNow transition back up to your
original multiplier.

Had the same problem with xp2600 mobile
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=357073

Let me know if you get to change the multiplier w/o having to cut traces or
fill in already cut ones.

FWIW: the following SETI statistics:
http://stateson.net/pub/swri_q1.jpg

163.124 is a dual zeon 2.8 running linux
164.124 is a dual XP K7D master with modded XP 2100+ @ 2200+
also running RH9
localhost is an A7M266_D mobile xp 2600 running XP-Pro

I think you can change the multiplier freely using the board's jumpers or
bios, but with crystalcpuid it will only go up to the maximum set on the cpu
bridges. So, if you want to go higher you'll have to modify them.

I ended up hard locking the processors at a 16.5 multiplier. I am running a
143 mhz bus speed @ 2363 mhz at 1.65 volts. Actually running the exact same
temps as the old xp1700's that were in here before @ 42c running two
instances of folding.
