fan controller

alright, maybe a bit off topic, but still is an issue with overclocking.

recently purchased a few new fans which i thought had thermal sensors, how
wrong i was. Anywho, i for one can't be bothered tinkering with fan speed
knobs everytime i start playing a game, and i was wondering if there was a
fan controller, or even just thermisters that can act independantly.
(obviously reacting to case temps). At the moment i have a cool drive 4
which i don't particularly like, it is unresponsive, and although it
measures the temperatures, it won't react to them.

My friend ahs a couple of the thermaltake smart fans which came with
thermisters, but they are way to noisy, not ot mention i have perfectly
good, quiet fans here already.

Thanks
Bushy

You can use Speedfan depending on your motherboard.

The fans i have do not have RPM reporting wires. I guess thats the catch.
super quiet, but very simple. what i really want, and forgive me if it was
unclear, are just simple thermisters that i can connect between the power
connector and the fan such that the volatge seen by the fan varies, and as
such so does the RPM.

Cheers

you can use Speedfan anyhow.

You can set the fan speed by observing the speed of the fans.

Then you can use your motherboards temp. sensors for the thermistors.

i checked out speedfan, and it appears that my motherboard (a7n8x-dlx) only
supports fan speed variation in the cpu fan.

Ideally, the regulation of the fan speed would be done in hardware also,
thats why i'm so keen to find thermisters, much like the ones that ship with
thermaltake smart fans.

Thanks for the help ayway
