Repair cost for not dying has been a source of forum QQ. For me hitting a breakable object like a barrel cost me 62G per hit....lol! None death related repair costs are ridiculous!

Alpha phase has officially ended with this patch. D3 will now proceed to beta testing. Notable changes needing testing:

High level item repair cost 6-10x more expensive
Mini bosses are now harder and drops are worse
Some Inferno bosses now has rage buff if you don't kill them immediately, made worse by IAS nerf

The list above sounds pretty reasonable... but the online buzz is that this update is a disaster - could be just the whiners whining but the volume of noise is pretty high.

Major framerate drops even worse with this update. Hundreds if not thousands of people with similar problems with top-end rigs. 100fps to 5fps frequently, totally unplayable. Still.

Here is what they did to my DH. I was farming act 1 and almost finished actII (Inferno):

* Lowered attack speed drastically
* Increased my Disipline use dramatically
* Nerfed my tenticles
* Drastically lowered my attack power
* Etc...

So now I cant even farm act I. What this patch was in truth was an adjustment in many class's to make the need to use the auction house with real money. Diablo III is designed as the most ridiculous money making adventure I've ever seen (and I thought the silly Facebook games were bad).

Noticed patch 1.0.3 killed my FPS counter in D3. Now it shows 0FPS, even though the game is playable.
(Cat 12.4)

As for the repair costs - ridiculous! Not dieing in A1 cost me 17k in repair bills and I made about 1k in gold after selling all my junk items (in 1 instance).

Since i've been forced to play below A2 inferno even before the change - it's almost pointless farming for gold/loot in A1 now due to the repair costs. I may just switch to hell /A4 to do decent farming.

I understand why the changes were made - but now I will probably have to farm much longer to buy decent gear in the AH - since I rarely ever get good drops for my wiz. It's also disgusting that items I actually need to continue on now cost a minnimum of 500k in the AH. If I spend anything less, it would only be a marginal upgrade for me which is not good.

One more thing - I find it nearly impossible now to sell my items on the AH. I try to sell them for dirt cheap (not the best of items, but fairly decent rares for a good/fair price) - even then no one is biting. It was different when D3 first came out, I would at least sell 2-3 items a day, but now its down to probably 1 item/ week.

I know i'm not the greatest D3 player, and i'm still trying to figure out the best combo of skills, but come on, give me a break!

I can't speak for the RMAH, but I found that the lower I priced my items, the less likely it was to sell. When I over-inflate the cost of something, someone would end up buying it.

I was actually starting to think that - maybe i've been pricing things too low.

One more fix. The had previously forced players to auto join the General Channel. No problem, I would just leave once I was in. Now!, you get an error message and can't leave.

Blizzard: Woohoo. Players leaving General chat. Fixed!

D3 is has incredibly unbalanced gameplay. As a monk in inferno mode I can splatter "white" mobs, a few at a time. 1 pack of "blues" or champion class mobs will surround me and kill me within 1-2 seconds. There is no CC, you cannot run through mobs to save yourself. You can gear up with resistances but what... you have to farm a set of each resistance and nerf the snot out of yourself just so you can stand toe-to-toe with these champion packs for an extra few seconds?

I'm done with the game. I don't care about a real money auction house, and think it's absurd people would spend greenbacks on a virtual sword when singles provide much better entertainment at numerous "establishments!"

dont quit the game

INSTEAD! do this -
as a tank/barb/monk
play normally as you would, kill easy mobs
as soon as you see a champion/elites
run back to your range class and let them tank while you try to escape
rinse and repeat

problem?

while i luve d2.. it seems d3 kinda odd to me.
the gfx side is not much better then dungeon siege III. yes.. i play D3 more.. but thats because i like D2 so much.
i got a lvl54DH and i dont see a single set or legendary drop.
crafting is completely useless.. gear craft is so expensive and 99.99% of time it create useless item, while JC require 20k to combine single gem (wtf??)
i think the worst part is since the drop rate always control by server side, it heavy going to hardcore play who got 10000MF while player like me (who dont have BIS gear) drop rate so low it kinda silly to farm.
blizzard need to fix the drop rate, i would "never" buy anything in RMAH. and if the drop is this low, after i finish all 4 play tho i dont think i will ever touch it again. (unlike d2)
d3 is complete step backward.. only 4 gem type, crafting is joke, drop rate super low. i really like blizzard, but after this.. like ubisoft.. i would never buy any game from them anymore. thats include next 2 starcraft2 exp.

And they gave the AH the most awkward, and annoying interface anyone could dream up. Mousing over every single item across 5-20 pages of crap is totally what I want to do with my limited play time.

Repair costs make it more difficult to save gold to buy gear on the AH

Drop rates do seem better with guaranteed drops off elites w/ 5 stacks, but this appears bugged. I've killed several elite packs with 5 stacks and received zero loot. No rares, no blues, no whites, no gold. It refreshes the buff though, so you know it counted.

Still, although I get more yellows, they're still crap. On average, the drop rates are so dismal, people go for days without getting any upgrades and have to buy the stuff off AH, it makes one wonder, how is there enough gear for EVERYONE on the AH? I have several friends who play. Each of them have maybe 1-2 items they found themselves, or was given by a friend while playing together. The rest is all off the AH...

So unless there are thousands of people running around with yellow loot flying out of everything they touch that is worth selling, then I think Blizzard is injecting gear into the game through the AH.

Why take a 15% cut of RMAH stuff when you can sell the gear yourself on both AH's, further encouraging RMAH usage.

Same goes for people who see 60$ pricetag for games automatically assume the game got to be good because its expensive. Same goes for CrApple products. Its ridiculous how dumb people are. People are going to assume Torchlight 2 is some half assed game because it's priced at 20 bucks... which is completely wrong. It is better than diablo 3 by FAR.

D3's latest patch has seen a 90% reduction in players so it says on forum, Would not surprise me as I just became one of them.
After last night I have stopped until it gets fixed, As a barbarian tank I can't afford to play this class anymore, And to make matters worse the way I liked to play was with attack speed that just got nerfed not using the class's main stat and resist all like the way they want you to play. I was not overpowered in the slightest far from it usually 3 deaths per elite pack on inferno, Attack speed nerf now means I cant kill any elites at all unless I go buy new gear with main stats(how boring)
Each hit costs me gold, gold has been nerfed, can't even hit a random pot as I take durability loss which again costs me gold, Gold that I can no longer get the FUN way, No way in hell I am buying gold Blizzard or using real money AH, Fix the game or see it die faster than you think!
NERF NERF NERF, D3 is now becoming WoW.
Melee class's have now become a joke thanks to repair costs.
The game was awesome before this latest patch it was hard but I could actually get somewhere by randomly grinding for loot or getting lucky finding a rare item or grinding out gold, It was fun. Now I am too scared to do anything as it costs me gold, what bullshit game is this,Games are meant to be fun playing the way we want to play it,Not how you think we want to play it Blizzard. Don't fkn think just make game and release it and leave it be and move onto next game, simple!
As long as there are no bugs that crash game then leave it alone,Stop trying to balance it out you it is not an MMO.
I feel sorry for those that have payed real money possibly hundreds already for gear that was just made useless with latest patch,They should sue Blizzards ass but I am guessing they covered their own asses in some tiny clause they make you sign when you update to the mandatory updates/patches.
These online games are becoming a joke, All we friggin' wanted was a modern version of D2,I don't want to have to co op or buy stuff with real money to get anywhere in game if I wanted that I would go and play a certain other blizz game.

The evil behind it all is Activision, seems that corrupted company's ceo have started to "inspire" the Blizzard management to screw their customers as much as possible and bringing less and less for more. (Activision's way is a new patch err i mean release of CoD for 60€ each year with just minor differences and then a bunch of 13€ DLC's brining less than a handful of maps. Back in the day several companies released totally free content packs if a title sold well, how many companies does that today?)

For Blizzard - When was the latest WoW patch that brought new content? How many million dollars do the company get each month from it in pure profit?

Blizzard is falling rapidly from being a solid company with solid products to expensive products that barely works, the fiasco with d3 launch was the point when i started to loose respect for the company in the big way.

R.I.P Old Blizzard!

this patch has put diablo 3 on the same quality level as Command & Conquer 4, or supreme commander 2.

a sequel that is SHIT compared to previous version, is the worst game type out there. its one thing to be shit from the start, but then people don't really care much about it.

but when a Great Game gets overhauled into something as pathetic as the mentioned games... its really sad. the game company deserves to be punished somehow for messing up a franchise. a franchise creates expectations, and its not hard to make the same thing again.

my rule for sequel is, same or better else POS.

You'd think with the billions of dollars they rake from WoW and other games in that they'd be developing new content on a regular basis instead of reusing the old stuff over and over again.
