You can set a subset of sets if you like (Settings->Sets/PathSelector)
(there is the mentioned available games button, too).

The better method is to scan all and disable scanner's popupmenu option
"show all missing sets" this will hide the completely missing sets from
appearing in the report.

Click the settings button, change the drop down to sets and click
the Available Games button.

sorry, I can't see a "show all missing sets" option.

This can be caused by several reasons. First...the available sets
button activates the sets you currently have plus parent/clones of
these if the parent/clone checkbox is enabled, too.

Another reason is that several fixes will reorganize sets and this may
affect sets you don't have. Follow my advice and scan all and hide the
fully missing ones instead.

actually.. in the settings I manually selected the only 7 games I have. In
the scan results window I can see 25 biossets (folder with an X) and none of
the 7 sets I have.

so, i wonder... should I download those 25 biossets? The games work, without
them.

You can enable/disable systems in scanner's "system..." window. If your
selected sets require biossets, you should keep the related system of
course.

If you've only got seven games why the hell do you need a rom manager

Dare I ask which seven games you're referring to? As there's a
reasonable chance that if they're emulated perfectly then there will
be absoultely no need for you to ever update your emulator/roms again.

See told ya :-)

It always puzzles me with roms where they aren't available
I mean obviously someone has them...Do they hang onto them on purpose
or aren't they aware that they have them and no-one else has?

And as for the missing roms for dats like the Arcade Minor emus,
Unemulated and Unk
I mean what's the score there ?
Do they compile the dats just to piss people off ? ;-)

Yes, they hang on to them on purpose. Yes, they are away that no one
else has them.

As for the arcade dats, if there's a CRC then there's a rom... and
someone has it.

I'm also aware that the more we beg for them, the longer the hoarders
will hang on to them. :(

You do know, that it'd probably be easier and faster to just check MAWS
after a new release, and download if need be. Only 2 of those ROMs have
changed since .36, Bubble Bobble in .94u3 (and only reason that changed
was there was newer better version found and dumped) and Virtua Striker in
..87u1. You've spent more time asking questions and ignoring people, than
it would have to do things the easy way.
