Hello, I'm new in PC building and I'm not planning on overclocking yet, but
I want a computer that is somewhat future proof. I'm not a pro gamer, but
some games coming are a must for me and I want them to run beautifully and
smoothly. I cannot afford to invest in Sli, so this is the machine for my
planned budget:

- Case: DabsXtreme Arctic Silentium 1 350W ATX
(Not sure if the PSU is enough for the graphics card)

- Mobo: Asustek A8N-E S939 nForce4 Ultra ATX

- AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 939 512KB Inc Fan
(I'm saving on CPU to invest on a better card, is it a good bet)

- RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 2x512MB 240Pin DIMM PC2-4300 Non-ECC DDR2 CL4

- GC: GF 6800GT 256MB DDR PCI-E DVI
(I'm getting a value brand which is likely to be a Inno3D, is that a risky
bet? Should I go with a major brand or it doesn't matter that much?)

- FDD: Alps 1.44MB Internal 3.5" Black

- HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus10 200GB U133
(I've got a recomendation for this brand from someone who fixes PC's for
durability)

- DVD: Asustek DVD-ROM 16x IDE

There are many forums filled with problems regarding setting up a sata raid
etc.
That you have never heard of them does not mean it doesn't exsists.
It's certainly not the same as with ide drives, sure, when bios is setup
properly and the supplied drivers are used correct then all will be fine.
But this is exactly where alot of users go wrong.
I recently build my nforce4 system and soon i'm gonna use 2 extra sataII
drives, but now i'm searching and reading the web about what can go wrong or
how to do the things right so i wont be troubled with setbacks. It's all new
to me,as will future changes in pc hardware will be new for you in some
years.

ahh ic, thought you were talking about a hardware problem, not user error,
yes you'll find a whole lotta posts in regard to this and many other so
called problems that turns out to be user error especially when a new
board/chipset is released...More understanding manuals should be released to
make things easier. Been running raid 0 for years on many drives, boards and
chipsets so had no problem even in 64 bit os's. Now linux is a different
story as far as I'm concerned yet again due to not enough experience and
ignorance on my part..Not a hardware problem or a reason not to buy the
newest type of drives...
