so a 4000+ is an FX 53? are they price comparable??

No...if you find a retailer with an FX53, they won't be asking 4000+ prices
for it. The FX53 is multiplier unlocked, while the 4000+ is locked. That's
basically the only difference.

I don't have any personal experience with either, but logic would tell you
that a CPU with an unlocked multiplier is more versatile for overclocking
options and tweaks.

yes, it can be overclocked further. Especially if you got water cooling or
one of those refridgerator jobbies.

I was under the impression the 4000+ was also unlocked for lower and upper
multiplier.
However,the difference is in the core.So you have to look which type you
want.
