nForce4, either DFI or Asus. Though the BIOS options on the DFI are a bit
scary. Both use PCI-express.

Based on several reviews and comparisons from various sources I finally
decided on the EPOX 9NPA+Ultra as offering the most bang for the buck.
Haven't regretted it yet. It offers more OC options than I've had a
chance to explore yet but when my new uber-memory modules and larger
cooler show up next week I'll dive into that also.

This comparison http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2465 rates
the EPOX as either #1 or #2 in the class depending on how extreme you
want your OCing options to be but knocks it on on the layout. I can't
figure this out since I had no problem at all routing the power cables
directly to the board without getting in the way of anything and my
standard floppy cable was plenty long enough -- maybe they were having a
bad day and couldn't see the obvious when it came time to install this
particular MB.

Thanks for you input John, it seems the choice of mobo is going to be
every bit difficult as I thought it would be. :)

just to make it all a bit more tough (well, perhaps), i'm quite happy with
the MSI k8n neo4 platinum. It has all the bells and whistles, inlcuding
SATA2 which might be helpful int eh future. And the one i've tried
overclocking, i got the 3200 venice up to 2.5 Ghz, retail HSF with no extra
voltage anywhere. I'd try it harder, but at the moment, stability is of the
essence.

Enjoy your new nerd-box

I have DFI NF4 SLI-DR, running 3200 (2ghz Venice) at 2.7Ghz 24/7. Never
goes above 40c even while Priming. If I was buying all over again I'd still
get the DFI for it's overclocking ability. Though if I was less concerned
about overclocking I'd get the Asus A8N SLI or Premium.

I went with ASUS a8n-sli deluxe as it has 8 sata ports and 3 PCI slots and I
have 6 250GB SATA drives Might have considered DFI as it seems to be a
better overclocker according to rumor

HT= 4

CPU core to 1.55 as high as it goes. Hope ASUS or someone who can hack the
BIOS will raise this

Ram to auto but the grey out says DDR266 6-3-3-2 2T I use 2 sticks 512MB of
kingston HyperX PC3500/ddr433

I was riunning Prime95 FPU stress and at around 22 hours I was surfing the
net and got a screen freeze But that could be because I'm overclocking my
MSI NX6800 video card 443/846 (stock is 325/600)amd just before the freeze
occurred I bumped up from 16bit to 32bit

temps are 36C Idle and 50-51C at load with the AMD stock heatsink I have an
XP-120 on the way so we'll wait for that before we prime95 again I can get
34C idel if I open my case

With the MSI NX6800 at 443/846 I'm getting roughly 5000 in 3dmark05 CPU
speed is a non factor as there have been a couple of time my motherboard has
reset the multiplier to 5X instead of 11X and I got the same 3dmark05 score

Hope this helps
