My father has a new HP comp, with a deskjet 672 printer.
Up to about a week ago it was working fine and then it startered printing garbled, we've uninstalled and reinstalled the port ,printer, and drivers countless times.
replaced the cable 3 times.
I believe theres a problem with the phyical port, anyone have any suggestions?

USB or parallel?

Have you tried it on another computer?

What does the HP toolkit say?

Is the printer plugged into a parallel or USB port?

is the printer in parallel or USB port? and important, did you change the default printer in windows? else you would be using the other printer driver for the 672, which would be sending commands that are greek to the 672!

i know thats too easy to miss, but then it could happen!
