PING GAIT users, what is your rate plan

Due to an oversight or a favor, I am off contract early on three phones. I
have 2 6340i's, and a year old contact at Cingular Corporate that said call
her when I wanted GAIT service in California. We know I don't need it in
California, but I do need GAIT in Central Oregon and Montana.

What rate plan are you on and/or what should I ask for.

I should have checked first! The GAIT plans are now gone from the
Dallas/Fort Worth list.
You'll need to identify an area that still offers GAIT plans and check
those. I believe Louisiana is still offering GAIT.

Wow, even the Nation GAIT plan is gone. And even worse, they're gone
from the resellers like Hawk Electronics also. What a crock. Someone
at Cingular has really jumped the gun on this and it is really going to
bite some customers that don't know any better.

The GSM map on the Cingular site for Texas/regional is now a complete
joke. They've obviously rolled ATTWS into the map which does add some
coverage (IF working) but nowhere near what they show. They apparently
are showing ALL roaming partners whether they've converted to GSM or not
(or whether they even PLAN to). I've been in east and central Texas in
just the last few weeks so I can personally attest that there is NO GSM
coverage in much/most of that area. And I'm not talking minor patches--
I'm saying that MOST of the rural carriers haven't converted AT ALL.
This map is simply WRONG. And the data map has also been updated and
it's even worse--the few cities of 20k+ that I've seen GSM working
(mainly T-Mobile) does NOT offer data to roamers even if they offer it
to their customers.

To drop the GAIT Regional plans is stupid enough but to drop the Nation
GAIT plan is simply staggering to me. This rush to show GSM completion
when it isn't true can't be an accident--someone has an agenda.

All I can say is that anyone who want's to travel in rural Texas (and
have cellular service) had better ignore the online plans and INSIST on
a gait phone/plan (and if they refuse be willing to go elsewhere--at
least on Verizon they could roam on analog).
