UAC for one application

Last response: in Windows 7
Share

Hi,
I need to run a program from a server in a mixed Windows XP and Windows 7 environment.
The current policy is to have the Windows 7 UAC turned to 'Never Notify' as the logon script needs to make changes to registry, etc.
The program will only work with Windows 7 if the UAC is turned on.
Is there a way of activating the UAC for this one program only?
Thanks in advanced for any ideas,
PD

I have never heard of a program that requires UAC to be turned on for it to work. Normally it requires it to be turned off for a program to work Have you tried running the program as the administrator or running in Vista compatibility mode?

Hi,
Can hear where your coming from, turning UAC off is actually telling UAC to say 'yes' to all requests; but the program will not run correctly with UAC off. (Found that bit of information on the websites FAQ)
Running as an admin does not change anything.
Cannot run in compatability mode as the program is running from a server.
Cannot install on all PCs due to licensing issues.
Thanks,
PD
