Hi,

I just got a Dell Axim 30, and was wondering if you could
install the Power Point Viewer on it to display
presentations? Thanks in advance...

No, you can't install any application that was intended for a desktop or
laptop running Windows onto the PPC. It must be a PPC specific application.
That's the general answer.

To help your specific problem there are numerous applications that will let
you deal with PowerPoint on the PPC. Unfortunately I don't know of a free
one. There are basically three kinds, those that let you view native .ppt
files copied to the PPC (ClearVue), those that convert the .ppt into another
format that the viewer supports, but you can't do much else with it (IA
Presenter), and those that convert the .ppt into something else that can be
virtually fully edited and converted back to a .ppt (Conduit's Pocket
Slides).

You might look at www.handango.com for other options as there are several.
If you go the Clearvue route, be aware that by default a .ppt is converted
to a .ppv which is viewable by Pocket PowerPoint, which actually exists on
Handheld PCs but not on PocketPCs. Installing Clearvue will prompt you to
turn off that conversion and it will do it for you.
