Windows7 backup problems

when I try to backup my decktop, it gets to 42% and it stops, i have tried several times,
it's a new computer, my 1st backup went smooth,but now i can't get it to finish. what is up with this?

Windows backup utilities suck so dont be surprised if they dont behave properly. Doing a manual backup is fine or get an external HDD and most new ones have their own backup software. There is also a ton of free backup software out there.
