System Crash

Occasionally my system will crash; it makes a beeping noise (sounds like
about 2 cycles of a "Hee-Haw" poloce siren)
and then "powers down" the computer. Anti-Virus software shows no virus,
and memory diagnostics show no memory
problems. Has anyone else experienced such a failure and know what caused
it?

My system is an Athlon xp 2500+, Gigabyte GA-7VT600 MB, 512mb memory, and
120gb HD

Thanks, Ray H

Sounds like a component is possibly overheating.

Check you cpu and reseat heatsink with more thermal paste. Is the cpu fan
working? I would add another case fan, in you don't have any add 2!
