Anyone know of any handy programs to tweak ones adsl/internet win2k settings?

Ive got a dlink dsl-504 adslmodem/router going to a dlink t10/100 nic.

my connection is 512/128 (64KB/16KB) but i only get around 54-55/12-13... and i want to be sure im getting the maximum possible out of it.

Try <A HREF="http://www.dslreports.com" target="_new">http://www.dslreports.com</A>. They offer speed tests and tweek tests.

Download DRTCP. This allows you to set your RWIN to optomize for DSL, ADSL etc. Since you had a dial-up modem before, you are probably set up for a modem.

After running this my downloads jumped from 40k to 60k to 130k to 150k.

I aint signing nothing!!!

ill second that. <A HREF="http://www.speedguide.net/" target="_new">http://www.speedguide.net/</A>
i went from 800-900 kbps before upto 2500 - 3800 kbps after installing their registry tweaks.
My friend works for comcast and gets his cable modem access free and almost uncapped. Whooooo hooooo!!!!!

Might be worthwhile contacting your ISP to find out what MTU value they recommend, so yours is streamlined with theirs. Once you have that subtract 40 from it and multiply it by 9 to get the RWIN value.
