Hi,
After wasting six hours on trying to get the ATI All in Wonder 9800 to
work against my LCD TV I give up... Apparently there is a bug in the
drivers, preventing Windows to display if you are connecting with DVI.
The bug was known back in 2003, so I am really irritated that it hasn't
been fixed yet. Sending the card back to Overclockers and will get
something else.

Please could you recommend a card that can take input from a Homechoice
decoder (Homechoice is a greater London cable-through-ADSL provider)?

The TV comes through the telephone line, together with 1 MB of bandwidth
for ADSL. It goes into the decoder box and comes out via a Scart which I
connect to the TV (Sharp Acquos LCD).
Is there any way to channel this into my computer through a clever TV
Card? I want to be able to record things, and to have a mini TV window
up while working at the computer.
I am looking for good graphic performance too, but am not a serious gamer.

Any tips appreciated!

Jo

Hi Chris,
Thanks for responding.... I was going to send back my card today, but
will try the patch first if you can send it, or a link to it?

But shouldn't the fix be incorporated with the latest drivers from ATI?
(which I downloaded and installed). Those took me from v. 4.7 off the
install CD to v. 4.11.
The behaviour corresponded to a bug which I found a long and very
descriptive thread on, referring to v. 4.6 - 4.7 and saying "they will
probably never fix it... " I felt stupid and cheated at having paid over
£100 for something which I couldn't use.

Great site you have got by the way, will have a proper look later... !
Regards
Jo
