Windows 7 freezes after boot up

Each time I turn on my PC, it boots up fine, but then when I open FireFox, I get a freeze up. I can still see the cursor and move it with the mouse, but there is no response when I click on anything. I have to shut the PC of manually and then when I restart it again, things work normally for the rest of the session.

  1. Have you tried running IE and seeing if you get the same result? It could be that there's an issue with that browser. Personally, I would suggest running a virus scan and seeing if anything has infected your machine.

I have not tried running IE, but I will next time. I do have antivirus software which scans regularly, always with the same result: "no problems found". I also keep updating this software. Parat34
