Just got into the Mame emulator games.. old school mostly. Any
suggestions on what joystick I can buy retail to play on pc. I don't
want to build anything or have to rewire my desktop... I'd like a
simple plug and play set up. Is this possible and what should I buy?
TIA!!!!

There are a /lot/ of options, but probably the best way to start out is
to pick up a simple gamepad controller. I have heard a lot of good
things about the 'Nyko Air Flo PC Game Pad'

Your mouse will work fine for games that use a gun, though not as well
for some trackball games. For that you need an actual trackball. You
can either get them as stand-alone
(http://www.fentek-ind.com/large-trackball.htm) or built into a keyboard
(http://www.fentek-ind.com/trackball-keyboard.htm). While a standard
size is fine for most PC use, when it comes to gaming, bigger /is/
better (http://tinyurl.com/737d4 or even http://tinyurl.com/d5r6f)

For driving games, /nothing/ beats an actual steering wheel. Almost any
computer store sells them. They range in price from about $20 to

I actually use a USB>PSX controller. Mainly because it is easier to use
for games that need to joysticks to play, like Battle Zone or Robotron.
It also has analogue for driving games and digital for pac man et al.

I usually use a Saitek controller. Not too expensive and comfortable. I
should note that I'm on my 3rd one because I wear them out fast (mainly
the main fire button)
