I would like to know if it is possible to turn on subtitles on videos running in WMC? In a nutshell I have my xbox running WMC and would like to watch some of my series from my computer. I just installed some codecs from Divx the other day to get MKV files to play on it but the subtitles are not showing up on my computer or xbox.

I would just like to know if I need to download something else or if there is a setting in WMC that will turn on the subtitles.

Have you tried using VLC? Great app and does subtitles quite well.

If you get this, be careful where you download it from. Codecs are often laced with all sorts of nasties (virii, malware, etc). Just be careful.

I actually have VLC and your right it's a great program. I was thinking more for when I'm at home on my xbox and wanted to use my Media Center to watch whatever i have on my computer without actually going into the other room to turn on the subtitles.

I have DirectVobSub once before on my XP computer. I'll have to search around for a good place that's safe and check the files.
