Hi,
My brother upgraded his computer with a PC Chips M-960G SIS661FX
motherboard, a Celeron D 2.66 CPU, 1GB of memory. Only problem was the
shitty on-board video, it's so cheap that it won't play his Links LS
2000 game, even at 64MB ram. This new m/b won't accomodate the old
video card, and would like recommendations on a decent video card for
that motherboard. I've noticed that there are video cards with 2
segments for connection and 3 segmented cards as well, so I'm at a
lost on video cards!! He needs a mid range gaming card, priced on the
low side.
Thanks for your help!!!

3 segments = PCI
2 segments = AGP

Go for an AGP like the one above.. What kind of price range are you
looking at (including your currency)

First he needs to check his motherboard's documentation and see if he has an
AGP slot on the board for a modern video card. Let us know. Otherwise he
will be stuck with a slow PCI card.

doS is correct, it is a AGP slot!! But, looking at the video cards
that say they are AGP, many have 3 sections of slot connections. For
example, on ebay both 2 section and 3 section are advertised as AGP
for the Radeon 9550.

Can someone, please, check out the motherboard on newegg and tell me
if my brother needs a 2 section or 3 section AGP card.

I know I'm asking for alot, but I want to try and help him out as he's
coming over to my house to often to play Links 2K, and my wife is
getting pissed. He's alone and I'm his only contact with the family!

I recommend you ignore the number of sections and avoid
ebay.

It's compatible with your board... which will take any
AGP4X, or 8X card. What it can't use is PCI-Express or AGP
1X or 2X cards.
