Is there anyone interested in creating a forum for people who work on other peoples' PCs.
There are a whole range of practical, technical, logistical and financial issues that come up in every day life for those of us dealing with these pesky beasts for a living (and I don't just mean the customers). And I, as a solo, independent technician, have a hard time finding people who know enough or have enough experience to be able to relate to my questions and issues.
Is there anyone else out there that feels this way and perhaps wants to get some sort of Tom's (or other) forum/group started?

there are a bunch of us that are going to compile a database of common problems/fixes before long. We are just trying to get everything organized.

No, not really.
I am talking about issues like:
How much to charge customers
What parts to carry
Anti-Virus and other system tools
Ethical questions
General comisseration about field tech issues.
Do you see the difference?

Hmmm...
Well I don't think there are really standards on those.

How much to charge customers? - differs, are you a large comp, self employed, what state/country.

What parts to carry?- again what is your primary business, do you even have enough profit to carry parts on you.

Anti-virus and other system tools- everyone has there own opinions

Ethical - that's what the other forum is for

General comisseratiion about field tech issues - see above.

That's why they have the other and polls sections. It's to discuss things like these.

Try to contact other businesses that you wouldn't be encroaching upon. You might find that they will be happy to chat.

I think that you hit the nail on the head when you said that everyone has their own opinions and that is exactly what i want to hear as well as the reasons for the opinions.

What forum where you referring to when (in reference to ethics) you said that is what the other forums are for?

I want to discuss these fuzzy issues not get hard and fast answers.

The "Other" forum is the forum entitled "Other". Look about a half inch above this one in the list :)
Not "The List", just the list.

I'd actually have to say it's more like .7 of a centimeter away from the polls:)

Only if you have your browser window maximized. Otherwise they're farther away (not on one line each).
