You need a minimum of 1 GB of RAM and your laptop came with 512 MB default.

If you've upgraded to 1 GB or more, then you can install Win7 on it.

You can try it out Windows 7 on virtual machine to see if all your hardware is compatible.

Download Windows 7 90 days trial from here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us [...] 42495.aspx
(If you have 8 MB+ broadband, download should take around 1 hour)

Then Download and install VMware 3 player from here http://www.vmware.com/products/player/
.....................................................................................................

Once Windows 7 ISO download is complete, Run VMware player

Click on ‘Create a New Virtual Machine’.

Select ‘Install disk image ISO’

Click on Browse

Select the windows iso file you just downloaded

Click Open

You will be promoted for Product key, just click Next (u don’t need product Key since this trial version)

Click Yes

Choose the amount of storage you will like to use for this Virtual machine. Choose anywhere between

12-40 GB, depending on what other software’s/games you will try on it.

Click Next

Click Finish.

Now sit and watch while Window 7 is been installed on virtual drive.

I don't advise running a virtual machine on an older laptop with just 1 GB or RAM on it.

Download and run the Windows Upgrade Adviser. It will tell you what parts are fine and what parts aren't for Win7.

WMware Player 3 Runs on 1GB. Plus this is only for testing to see if all his Hardware’s will work On Windows 7.

Windows Upgrade Adviser is good, but is got is ups and downs. When I tried, my system passed, but after I installed Windows 7, when I checked device manager, there were still 1 unknown device. Tried Windows drive update, still couldn’t recognise it.
