Toshiba e800 v Ipaq 4700

I currently have an e740 but thanks to Toshiba not allowing users to upgrade
I am looking to replace it. I am loathe to buy Toshiba again, but to me
there isn't that great a difference between these two machines APART from
the price (the IPAQ will be about £100 in the UK). I am not a power user, I
just want something with a good display, bluetooth and an upgrade path. Any
comments much appreciated especially as I know the 4700 has only just "hit
the streets".

Regards

John

What would the upgrade have given you that got you so upset?

Bear in mind that there is no guarantee that any maker will offer any
upgrades in the future. Where makers have offered upgrades it seems to have
been only one upgrade, not a series of them, and if you read the newsgroup
archives there are people who wanted to return to their original OS after
applying the upgrade for a number of reasons. To repeat, just what would an
upgrade give you that you didn't have before? You haven't said what it is,
or is it a case of 'must have the newest?'

The issue regarding the upgrade was the fact that Toshiba did not give users
the choice to have the upgrade either for free or at a cost less than a few
months after I had bought the e740. As to whether or not I would have taken
the upgrade, I expect I would have, but not getting the choice was what
upset me.
