Can't see external

Hi guys,

I'm new here please tell me if this is the wrong place to ask this. I have tried formatting my external HDD and turn into a bottable linux device. After formatting my HDD I can no longer see it on my computer. I can view it through cmd/diskpart listed as disk 1 but it does not show on my computer. I plugged into my laptop and I can see it there, any advice?

(Running W8 on troubled PC and W7 on the laptop.)
