DOS software for serial transfer

My friend's got a serial cable, and two computers, one of which has only DOS installed. Now, this can be done with standard Comms programs (like Telix, etc.), but that'd be too much for him. Are there any dedicated+simple software that'll just allow serial transfer of files over DOS?

I used to use Laplink for such a transfer, although it's been a couple years since I've done so. It supported both serial and parallel transfers. I'd recommend parallel if you have cable as it is much faster (obviously).

Unsure if it's still an available product.

Laplink is the way to go. I'm not sure but I think that there is a DOS command that allow to transer data trought parallel.

Hope that helps.
