Thermaltake Xaser III case

Hey, I'm looking at the Thermaltake XaserIII V2000A for it's space and
cooling efficiency. There's provision for up to 8 casefans. I'm just
wondering how you're supposed to power them? ie will they be connected
straight to the PSU on separate lines, or is there some way of connecting
the actual case to the PSU then the fans take their supply from the case?
I've just been looking at the review at

and saw the inside picture, there's quite a few cables sitting inside the
bare case and I'm wondering where they're all (apart from the firewire and
USB conns) supposed to go!

Does anyone know of a more suitable case because this may be slightly OTT
for my cooling needs. The space is good though!

If you've got to fit 8 case fans to achieve reasonable temps, you're
polishing a turd.

Antec's cases with 1 or 2 quiet 120mm fans (Sonata, P160) will give
great airflow with minimal noise,as long as you're not an ass when it
comes to cable routing.

If you're looking for space, the P160 may be more suitable.

Hi PH,
Finished a new build last week using one of these case. Lots of room to
"move" in there. My only regret is that this particular Hardcano fan
controller does not light up. A trivial thing you may say but as I do most
of my work at night it would be nice. Other Xaser series Hardcanos are
backlit so.....
The fans do of course connect to the Hardcano. You can connect them in
series or individually to the Hcano.Each fan is wired for this facility.
They are 2 pin fans so no rpm is available. Plug a 12 volt supply into the
Hardcano with the fans. Thats it. I have mine with the 2 front fans in
series to plug 1, 2 side fans to 2, 2 back fans to 3 and blow hole to 4.
I have the PSU turned to low (PSU Thermal Take 480Watts) and all fans to
their lowest setting. I have had them like this for a week now and my temps
(hang on where's the torch) are idle 28C playing UT2004 34C room temp is
25C.
BTW you can barely hear them. The case is 2 feet to my right at a little
below desk top height and they are really quiet.
Would I buy another. In a heartbeat.

Thanks for the quick replies, as long as it lasts a good amount of time I'll
be happy, usually I just buy what will do me for the meantime, but that just
results in me spending more money in the end. I don't want a case I'll
quickly outgrow in a year.. then again I've just been reading the thread
about the (possible) new BTX form factor, hopefully this is a long time
away!
