Epson 890 nozzle confusion

Forum Computer Peripherals : Printers Epson 890 nozzle confusion

Hello,
my Epson Photo 890 started to print a somehow confused nozzle check pattern which shows
as dark magenta stripes on the paper prints. On the magenta nozzle pattern the step 11
of the 2nd line from top apparently a wrong nozzle is fired. The problem could not be
solved by either nozzle cleaning or alignment procedures, nor by turning the printer
off and on again, nor by reboot Windows.
Any suggestion as to what to do?

The pattern of the lower three magenta lines all look suspect to me.

If the printer's still under warranty, I'd take it back.

I have looked at the nozzle check you are showing, and indeed a number
of nozzles are showing deflected patterns. This is not likely to be
"confusion" or that they are printing out of order, but that some dried
ink or partial clogging has occurred. Like holding your thumb over a
garden hose end with water coming out, the ink flow moves from the dried
ink obstruction.

If the printer is under warranty, you may choose to have it exchanged,
however, this is almost always a fixable situation, requiring just some
underhead cleaning.

If you prefer to repair it yourself, please email me, and I can provide
you with a copy of my Epson Cleaning Manual which explains how to clean
under the head with a couple bucks of household cleaning items.

The manual is free, and I don't send out spam, nor do I sell any items
relating to Epson cleaning.
