Power Supplies with Active PFC

I'm trying to decide between two power supplies, both are Thermaltake
PurePower 480s. One has active PFC, the other doesn't. Does anyone have an
opinion about active PFC and whether it's worthwhile? Thanks in advance.

a bit anemic on the 12 volt lines there....

That's a pity. My Northwood 3.06 runs 3.5 easy with stock cooling.
I'd run it up a bit more but I like the 2-2-2-5 ram timing.
Just got a 550watt Enermax that runs 40/45/25 but I run 4 times the drives
you have so the +12VDC line is more important to me.
I ran the same system on an Enermax with 15amps on the +12v line.....
but then again.... that PS went south.
Besides a lot of those "reviews" of power supplies don't load down
the systems like I'd like to see.
Really couldn't say as to your current requirements but I suspect that
if you're going to keep the system and upgrade the vid card anytime
soon you might start straining the PS.

It's an Asus P4G8X running in dual channel mode with Corsair PC3200
TwinXLLPT ram, the older stuff with the ram timings that appear to have
disappeared these days. I know it's not the most cutting edge FSB or
anything but the chipset (Granite Bay 7205) and CPU make a nice combination
