d\I received an old Power Mac G4 400 as a gift, and would like to strip it down and customize it with new parts. Currently, the power mac only supports a maximum of 1 GB RAM. I would like to increase the RAM up to anywhere from 6-10 GB. Also, is there any way to install a new motherboard? I want this old computer to be a piece of High-Octane, Music Recording Glory machine. How can I go about doing this?

Solution
No can do. There is only so much you can do with the old G4 systems. They are super proprietary and only other G4 parts can be stuffed into those rigs.

My advice would be to save your money (and time) and get a much newer Mac. Otherwise, I think you will be sorely disappointed.
