Epson C82 & Print Server

I just hooked up my Epson C82 to an Airlink APSUSB2 print server and
everything works but the communications - I can't see the ink levels, When
I double click on the icon in the system tray, after a minute of searching
the utility displays "communications error". Printing works without a
problem. The Airlink PS supports bi-directional communications. The
problem is the same on both my W2K & WXP systems. What am I doing wrong?
