I just completed my new computer build a few days ago. I've blue screened 9 times today. It doesn't seem do be during any particular time. It usually happens while the computer is idle, or if I leave the room for a minute while downloading something. I was having trouble with the Blizzard downloader so I rolled back the network adapter driver that I had gotten from Windows update. That helped the Blizzard downloader work, but I still keep blue screening while downloading games off Steam. I really don't know if it's the downloading thats causing it though.

1. Never let Windows Update install hardware drivers, particularly network and sound drivers. I have had bad experiences in at least half the instances in which I was / became involved. When WU says there's a new driver version, go get it from your vendor's web site.

2. Check Event Viewer for any error messages.

3. Search for error messages using Yahoo / Google. These usually read "[insert file name here] has encountered a problem and needs to close."

4. Upload your *.dmp files to sevenforums
