iPac4 problem...

sent an email to Andy, but thought I would post here in case someone else
has seen this (if not, I will be following up by posting a solution for
future group reference). So, here goes (Note: Win XP Pro, Mane .78 with .78
roms; mame32 .78):

When I boot the machine with the iPac connected, I get the initial 3 Lights
to flash on the keyboard (note, I do not have any LEDs on the iPac), beyond
that, the iPac and Keyboard do not work. It did not work in Mame, so I
opened a notepad and tried to hit buttons on the control panel and keyboard,
but nothing worked. So, tried to boot with the keyboard not connected to the
pass thru - same result.
However, when I boot with just the keyboard attached, let XP boot up
completely, then just unplug the keyboard directly from the back and plug in
the iPac cord (directly), it works fine.

All shift functions work, so a stuck switch seems not to be the problem.
