Hi. I notice there are at least 2 programs that will copy a DVD and put a
mini version on the SD card. They claim to do one movie of 100 min or
shorter on a 128 meg card.
Have any of you purchased this SW?
A FEW QUESTIONS...
1. How long does it take to copy the DVD and get it ready for the SD card.
If I had a 90 min DVD, how long would it take me to get it ready?
2. How is the quality of the dvd in your opinion.
3. How does the movie get put on the SD card? With Active Sync? How long
does that take to download the 90 min DVD to the SD card via activesync?

I have DVD to Pocket PC by Makayama.

Several hours. I just let it do its thing at night.

Good enough. Esp. in dark scenes, and action scenes, you do see
artifacts, but that is to be expected.

The way you want it. It ends up in a nice .wmv file. I personally
would never ever use the explore function of Activesync to place it on
a SD card, but simply use a storage card reader. The speed of the
latter is way better. And it will be done instantly (in a few mins
that is).

There are several freeware programs that will do this, so why purchase
something, that is repackaged freeware?
Of course WIndows Media Encoder and Windows Movie Maker, also AutoGK, Pocket
DIVX, and Fair Use. Take a look at those.

I used to do that as well. But in the end, to get a similar quality
picture, I had to go through several steps with different interfaces.
Now I just use one program, and I'm happy with that. The ease of use
was worth my money. If you like saving money by taking an extra
effort: good for you!
