Does the Asus SK8V motherboard support Opteron 240EE ?

The 240EE is a low power Opteron CPU that runs at
1.15 volts rather than the 1.5 volts of the standard
Opterons. Does anyone know whether the SK8V will
detect that the CPU is a 240EE and, accordingly, adjust
the CPU voltage to 1.15 volts?

According to the Asus published information the SK8V is only intended to
support the 100 series Opteron.

AFAIK, there is no specific ID of the CPU necessary to
support it's voltage, rather it's the same situation as
previous boards, the voltage regulator controller senses
which pins pull down logic-high signals. In other words,
determination of the minimum voltage supported can probably
be made by identifying which controller chip it uses, then
consulting that chip's spec sheet on it's manufacturer's
website.

Otherwise, i know not if there are other issues that might
thwart use of the 240EE on the SK8V, but fellow owners of
that board might be more help, a good place to find some
users might be at http://forums.amdmb.com
